"With "Icarus," I wanted to explore the tension between aspiration and downfall, much like the myth itself. The painting is dominated by rich blues and muted greens, with the horizon line barely visible, swallowed by the mist of stormy clouds. This contrast of sea and sky suggests both the heights of ambition and the dangers that come with pushing too far.

The dark, looming clouds represent the unseen forces that often limit us, while the stillness of the ocean below speaks to the reflective pause before action. In this work, I wanted to evoke that pivotal moment when bold dreams teeter on the edge of reality. The viewer can feel both the weight and the calm of the scene, just before everything changes—mirroring the rise and fall of Icarus himself.
